February 14 2024 - March 31, 2024

The three programs supported by One Great Hour of Sharing - Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, the Presbyterian Hunger Program, and Self-Development of People - all work in different ways to serve individuals and communities in need. From initial disaster response to ongoing community development, their work fits together to provide people with safety, sustenance, and hope.

Typically received during the season of Lent, each gift to One Great Hour of Sharing supports efforts to relieve hunger through the Presbyterian Hunger Program, promote development through the Presbyterian Committee on the Self-Development of People, and assist in areas of disaster through Presbyterian Disaster Assistance.

WPC Mission Committee

WPC Members are always seeking educational opportunities to present to the congregation and community about being good stewards of our community and world.

In our community, WPC continues to support Fourth & Hope homeless program through volunteering time cooking and serving meals.  WPC holds an annual sock drive in the fall.  We are always collecting needed articles for the homeless year-round.  WPC is involved with the Lifestyle Stewardship work group, an organization who brings environmental education to the congregation so that all can be good stewards of God’s earth.

Woodland Presbyterian Church is a member of Woodland Ecumenical & Multi-Faith Ministries (WEMM), an organization composed of various Woodland faith groups.  WEMM organizes the annual Christmas Food Basket distribution in Woodland, organizes an ecumenical Thanksgiving service, and identifies other outreach efforts to assist residents of the community.

On a global effort, the WPC congregation purchases their beverages through the Presbyterian Coffee project.  It is an organization that supports coffee farmers who receive fair-trade prices for their coffee and teas.  During Christmas time we encourage our congregation to participate in the Annual Alternative Christmas Gift Sale whose sales support artisans in developing countries.

Ukrainian American House

The mission of Ukrainian American House is to promote bilateral working relationships within the United States and Ukraine in culture, business, economy, education, and government in order to establish practices that would decrease obstacles pertaining to foreign investments and market access.

As of February 24, 2022, their mission has pivoted to solely focus on providing humanitarian aid to the people of Ukraine fighting for their freedom. UA House is uniquely positioned to provide critical assistance due to previously established working relationships with Ukrainian and US government officials and organizations.

You can visit their website, https://www.uahouse.org/, to donate financial support to the non-profit UA House, 100% of all funds raised will go directly to Ukraine's largest children's hospital for much-needed medical supplies as well as military equipment for the resistance.

We believe an integral part of the Christian walk is to share God's love with others.  Currently we are supporting the following local, Presbyterian, and global missions
